A Retired USMC Gunnery Sergeant as a High School Teacher

Retired USMC becomes teacher
After retiring, a USMC Gunnery Sergeant took a new job as a high school teacher.

Just before the school year started, he injured his back. He was required to wear a light plaster cast around the upper part of his body.

Fortunately, the cast fit under his shirt and wasn't noticeable when he wore his suit coat.

On the first day of classes, he found that he had been assigned the toughest students in the school.

These "smart-ass punks", as they were known, had already heard that the new teacher was a retired US Marine. They were leery of him but figured he would be testing his Marine Corp. discipline on the classroom, so they decided to take command from the start.

The retired Marine, walked tall and proud into his now extra rowdy classroom. Paying no attention to the ruccas, he flung the window next to his desk wide open and sat down.

A strong, cold breeze blew in, chilling the room. It also made his tie flap so he reach over, scooped up his stapler and stapled the tie to his chest.

The classroom went dead silent and the rest of the year went quite smoothly.
